About Beanstalks

Plant leads. Grow pipeline.
Built for biotech, on purpose.

We chose to build a biotech specialist instead of a generalist. Here is why — and what that commitment looks like in the product.

Why we built this

Because biotech sales was running on tools built for SaaS.

Every generalist prospecting platform — Apollo, Outreach, Salesloft, Instantly — was designed for selling software. The data model, the personalization, the workflows, the pricing: all shaped by B2B SaaS assumptions. When you try to sell to a PI running cell therapy research, every one of those assumptions breaks.

  • A PI isn't a B2B SaaS buyer; they're a scientist with grants and papers
  • Generic personalization doesn't work on someone who reads 30 papers a week
  • Territory by state is useless when your buyers live inside institutions
  • Template-based emails fail the moment the prospect asks a specific science question

What we decided

Specialize hard. Own biotech completely.

Instead of building another generalist tool with a 'biotech vertical' bolt-on, we chose to build a specialist. Our data sources, our personalization, our territory model, our voice — all optimized for life sciences. If you sell to SaaS, Beanstalks is the wrong tool. If you sell to biotech, it is the only one purpose-built for you.

  • Four scientific APIs as first-class data sources
  • Personalization that reads the paper, not the first name
  • Territory by institution type, topic, and grant activity
  • Language, pricing, and UX shaped by biotech sellers

Where were going

Pharma-grade depth. Startup-grade speed.

Our roadmap has two parallel tracks: deeper biotech intelligence (patents, tradeshow signals, clinical trial investigators, company funding events) and stronger enterprise infrastructure (SOC 2, HIPAA-readiness, custom integrations). Both shipped iteratively. Every release answers the same question: does this make a biotech seller's day better?

  • Intelligence: patents, clinical trial investigators, funding events
  • Enterprise: SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA readiness, custom integrations
  • Data: 1M+ researchers (on track), ORCID resolution, email enrichment
  • AI: better scoring, deeper personalization, auto-summarization

How we operate

Small team. High standards. Ship often.

Were a small team with a bias toward shipping. We publish weekly release notes. We answer our own support email. We share our roadmap with customers. We fix bugs publicly instead of hiding them. Software feels better when the people building it are close to the people using it.

  • Weekly release notes
  • Support from the people who wrote the code
  • Public roadmap and quarterly OKRs
  • Founder-accessible for any customer, any day
